PHILADELPHIA, PA – The devastation of Hurricane Sandy impacted thousands of families and communities on the east coast, and many of the College’s alumni and friends. Through the hard work, dedication, and generosity of the campus community and alumni, Chestnut Hill has been able to aid in providing supplies and much needed financial support for those communities hit hardest to rebuild. 
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Chestnut Hill College will host training for The Soldiers Project on “Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Traumatization, and Self Care for Mental Health Professionals” on Thursday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Chestnut Hill College will host the 8th Annual United Nations Conference on Teaching Peace and Human Rights on Friday, March 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. This conference, a United Nations Academic Impact Event and sponsored by Global Education Motivators (GEM) is for teachers, future teachers, administrators and NGOs to engage in a global dialogue on the importance of human rights education to help achieve a better world for all. 
PHILADELPHIA, PA –Andrew Newberg, Ph.D., director of research at the Myrna Brind Center for Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Medical College and adjunct professor of religious studies and associate professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, will present the lecture, “Neurotheology” on March 18, at 7 p.m. at the Commonwealth Chateau, SugarLoaf campus at Chestnut Hill College. This lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College.
PHILADELPHIA, PA –Ethan Ake, a student in the College’s School of Graduate Studies has been selected for a fellowship in the prestigious New Science Teacher Academy by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).  A resident of Philadelphia and a teacher at Charter High School for Architecture & Design, Ake was one of 244 teachers nationwide and just one of 11 teachers in Pennsylvania to be selected to be a part of the year-long fellowship and development program. Ake will be a part of the 2012-2013 Dow-NSTA Fellows sponsored by Dow Chemical Company.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Steinway performance artist Vitalij Kuprij, pianist for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, will deliver a guest performance as part of the College’s Steinway Master Artist series on Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. Kuprij, a Ukrainian born pianist and composer, has international acclaim for his classical background and training while also transitioning seamlessly to neo-classical, progressive rock and metal.

Play Portrays One Woman’s Journey to Auschwitz during the Holocaust. PHILADELPHIA, PA – Chestnut Hill College will host a performance of the 2010 Philadelphia Fringe Festival selection, “ETTY” on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Redmond Room. The event, which has been brought back to the College by popular demand, is sponsored by the Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation at Chestnut Hill College. 
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Edward Davis, Ph.D., professor of the history of science at Messiah College will present the lecture, “Darwin and Religion: Rumors of Warfare in a Post-Darwinian Age” on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Commonwealth Chateau, SugarLoaf campus at Chestnut Hill College. This lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College.
Philadelphia, PA – (1/7/2013) – It is with great pride and enthusiasm that Chestnut Hill College congratulates Daniel Comas '12 on becoming the first student-athlete from the College's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) era to play professional sports. The Griffins third all-time leading scorer (1,311 points) has signed a contract to play for Global Select, formerly the Washington Generals, the lovable foils to the world famous Harlem Globetrotters.
