Chestnut Hill College’s Accelerated Adult Degree Program is designed for the adult learner. The Healthcare Management degree program prepares students to work in hospitals, healthcare facilities, healthcare provider offices, and community health organizations. Healthcare managers help to plan, direct and coordinate the activities provided by healthcare professionals. The interdisciplinary curriculum includes a comprehensive foundation in health issues, health systems, sociological influences, and legal and ethical concerns. Students will develop skills to communicate and interact effectively with physicians, administrators, patients and families. This degree also prepares students for graduate studies in the healthcare field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2021), the employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow 32% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. The demand for healthcare services will increase as the number of older adults increases, and people remain active later in life.
