The experiences you allow yourself to have as a student often set you up for future career success, and sometimes, they even surprise you. That’s exactly what John Manzo learned when he took part in – and placed in the top 10 – of the Philadelphia Flyers College Sales Program.That experience, coupled with an internship Manzo took with the College’s HR department, showed him his passion and defined his future goals, which now include an MBA, something Manzo never saw himself pursuing when he first transferred to CHC.
The moral of the story?
“Connections are key. Getting that real experience—the idea of interning somewhere or getting first-hand experience—I think is very vital. There are so many opportunities to get involved on campus and beyond. You should be open to trying new things even if they seem out of your comfort zone…At CHC you’re not just an individual behind everybody else – everyone knows you as a person and having that personal connection with your professors, with them being there for you and trying to help you dive into your passion and see where you want to go – I don’t know how I could have had that same experience at another school.”
