ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY WITH CHEM 301L (CHEM 301) - An introduction to the field of analytical chemistry. Topics included are advanced acid/base chemistry, molecular and atomic spectroscopy, and separation methods. The Laboratory focuses on gaining hands-on experience with a variety of cutting-edge instrumentation: Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, and Liquid Chromatography.
INSTRUMENTAL ANALYSIS WITH CHEM 303L (CHEM 303) - A continuation of CHEM 301 focused on advanced instrumentation like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, various Mass Spectrometry (MS) instrument configurations, and basic electrical circuitry for interfacing chemical instrumentation.
TOXICOLOGY (CHEM 222) - A survey of the scope and modern aspects of toxicology. Emphasizes clinical manifestations (symptoms and treatment) of acute, subacute, and chronic intoxication, and current analytical methodology. Each type of toxin and toxicant studies is supported by actual case histories and analytical data.
