Presentation by Emma Paras, Senior Planner in the Department of Emergency Preparedness of CHOP, on the Corona Virus, and how CHOP prepares for such emergencies.

Emma Paras is the Senior Planner in the Department of Emergency Preparedness at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Educational achievements include an Associate’s of Science in Emergency Medical Services and Bachelors of Science in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from the University of Akron as well as a Master’s in Public Health from Emory University. With skill and knowledge in writing emergency plans, designing and conducting exercises and trainings, as well as experience in public health preparedness and response, her career has focused on healthcare emergency management. As chair of the Pediatric Emergency Management Coalition, these skills have translated beyond a single health system to coordinate multiple institutions for collaborative preparedness and response amongst the pediatric healthcare community. With a passion and fervor for emergency management, and personality which brings preparedness, creativity, and coordination to all aspects of her life, she is constantly striving to push the field of emergency management forward.
