Chestnut Hill College Music Dept to Host 'Month of Music' this April

With guest performers including the Philadelphia-based jazz, and R&B band, Point Blank and acclaimed Steinway artist, Young Ah-Tak, as well as College ensembles and music major recitals, CHC is geared up for a monthlong of great music events in April that you won't want to miss.

The Chestnut Hill College Music Department presents several upcoming shows throughout the month of April beginning with Point Blank, the jazz and rhythm and blues, Philadelphia-based band, who with perform at the College, on Monday, April 13, at 7 p.m., in the College’s East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.

Point Blank specializes in contemporary jazz and has toured the world with music artists such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, The Manhattans, The Temptations, The Ray Charles Orchestra, BB King and the US Army Jazz Band.

The next show is from the College's Steinway Master Artist Series. Young-Ah Tak, piano virtuoso will be on campus to give a concert on April 16th. More information about Tak's event can be found on the previous press release.

Following Tak's performance is the Spring Choral Concert featuring the College’s Hill Singers and String Ensemble which will take place on Monday, April 20, at 7 p.m., in the College’s East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall. This year’s concert will feature selections that include Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G.”

The Wind, Jazz and Flute Ensembles play next on Wednesday, April 22, at 7 p.m., in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.

The Semester Music Major Recital concludes the musical festivities, on Sunday, April 26, at 5 p.m., in the College’s Motherhouse Auditorium.
