Walking for Lily’s Hope

Lily's Hope
Walkers for Lily's Hope Foundation start out from the Piazza in 2016.

Remember to come out and join walkers to benefit Lily’s Hope Foundation, which supports babies, children and their families with unexpected and urgent needs due to premature birth.

The 9th Annual Lily’s Loop Walk will be held October 17. Walkers will meet at the Piazza at 2 p.m. for a short walk (less than a mile) around campus. The walk is sponsored by CHC’s Council for Exceptional Children, with faculty advisers Mary Stratton, M.Ed., instructor of education, and Len Spearing, Ph.D., assistant professor of education. The group works closely with Marie Bambrick, SSJ, M.Ed., scholarship liaison officer, to organize this annual event.

In just a few short years, the foundation has helped more than 770 families who were not expecting their children to be born early and need clothing (for preemies), diapers, car seats and much more.

Last year, Lily’s Hope added a monthly event it calls a Packing Party for volunteers to meet and pre-pack some of the items in their Packages of Hope which are distributed to families and hospitals around the country.
