Fall Open Houses Welcome Prospective Griffins and their Families to Campus

Vice President of Enrollment and Communications, Ryan Burton-Romero, welcomes prospective students and families to the September Open House.

Under the leadership of Chestnut Hill College’s new Vice President for Enrollment and Communications, Ryan Burton-Romero, the College is redoubling its efforts to engage prospective students in person and to take every opportunity to bring them to campus.

“CHC has a beautiful campus and an extraordinarily warm and welcoming community," notes Burton-Romero, who assumed his position toward the end of the summer. "Inviting as many prospective students as possible to experience CHC for themselves is central to our yield strategy moving forward."

As part of the fall recruitment events organized by the undergraduate admissions team, the College welcomed more than 35 families to campus on September 30th, 2023 for a special admissions event that combined a traditional open house with a first-of-its-kind GriffinFest. Held as the culminating event of the Inauguration Week celebrations for William W. Latimer, Ph.D., M.P.H., the 1st Annual GriffinFest featured a community-wide celebration focused around four athletic events occuring on campus that day. By combining the open house with GriffinFest, prospective families could see campus at its finest as well as have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the CHC community. The event built excitement and showcased the genuine relationship-building opportunities that make Chestnut Hill College so unique.

Over the course of the event, prospective students and families enjoyed four athletic contests, (of which three saw a Griffin victory!), a fun BBQ lunch outdoors that offered opportunities to mingle with faculty and staff, and the very special opportunity to hear wonderful stories from alumni who returned to their alma mater with great spirits!

College mascot, Big Griff, was all smiles as he interacted with future Griffins!

Over 125 families have already registered for the College’s next open house scheduled for Saturday, November 4. If you are interested in attending the event, you can learn more and register online for the upcoming open house.

Do you have a family member who may be interested in CHC?  Our Alumni Legacy scholarship awards $2,000 to the grandchild(ren), child(ren), or sibling(s) of CHC alumni. Learn more by attending the November 4th Open House or by emailing admissions@chc.edu.
