The Pain of Pandemic: A Day of Prayer and Remembrance

The Pain of Pandemic: A Day of Prayer and Remembrance

March 29, 2021 - 3:00pm

We have reached the one-year anniversary of the World Health Organization’s declaration of Covid-19 as a global pandemic. This has been a year of unprecedented challenges as our whole world tried to figure out a new way of living and being. This year has held much sadness, confusion, and loss. Many in our own CHC community know the deep grief of losing a loved one to Covid-19.

One of the greatest gifts of being part of a community like ours is that we have the graced opportunity to support one another even through the most difficult of circumstances. To that end, we invite you to join us on March 29th, the Monday of Holy Week, for The Pain of Pandemic: A Day of Prayer and Remembrance. There are a few entry-points to this day:

  • On March 29th at 3:00pm, we invite all members of our community to join us for a virtual Prayer Service of Remembrance - a space of personal testimony, song and prayers for healing. Join Zoom Meeting: https://chc.zoom.us/j/99183359604

  • On March 29th, the Carlino Chapel will be a designated place of prayer from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Every hour on the hour, a candle will be lit, and prayer will be read in reverent memorial of all of those who have died, particularly those whose names and faces will be displayed around the altar. Our Chapel will be livestreamed for 12 hours on our Campus Ministry YouTube Channel, to become an accessible place of private prayer for all members of our community. The Chapel will also be open for visitors in-person

We recognize, too, that some individuals in our community may be seeking a more personal space at this time. The Campus Ministry team is more than willing to meet with any individual seeking a listening space of care. Please feel free to reach out to any of us directly for support, accompaniment, or a space of spiritual direction.

We all have been touched by this virus because we are all connected. Please join us in prayer on March 29th. As we continue the Lenten journey, and approach Holy Week, may we feel God grieving with us, hoping in us, and breathing new life through us.

With respect, care, and love,

The Campus Ministry Team
