Chestnut Hill College’s Center for Integrated Humanities (IHC) wants to invite all members of the CHC community to take a break and explore something different this Fall through a series of open classes.
One of the classes is the Interdisciplinary Honors Program course “Children’s Literature and Environmental Literacies” co-taught by English professors Mia Grogan and Barbara Lonnquist. The course will take place on Friday, November 8th at 12PM in the Brimmer Room of the Logue Library. The description for the course can be found below:
What kinds of environmental themes, concerns, and approaches are we sharing with children through the picture books and chapter books they read? We will be looking at some children’s books from decades past (think The Lorax and The Giving Tree) and also exploring ecologically informed children’s literature written more recently. Join us to browse new books and discuss some of the classics you remember.
Please contact Suzanne delGizzo (delgizzos@chc.edu) for more information on the open courses and if you have an accommodation request.
