WCHC and Creating Success
All first-year students are placed into either WCHC during their first semester at CHC. The course is designed to help continue the orientation experience while also exposing new students to all of the great resources CHC has to offer.
WCHC will help you develop essential study, critical thinking and communication skills. Your WCHC team will help you understand the expectations of your professors, the benefits of a liberal arts education and the values and Mission of the College. The course will also help increase your awareness of the many academic opportunities, resources and support services CHC has to offer.
Creating Success builds on the basics of WCHC, but is more intensive and focuses more heavily on strengthening students’ academic skills and study habits. First-year students are enrolled in one of the two courses.
Passport Program
The Passport program was designed to encourage all first-year students to get involved, utilize college resources and become intellectually stimulated by truly engaging in the diversity of college life.
You may find what passport events are going on around campus by looking at the My CHC Portal and/or email blasts that will be sent to your CHC email from staff/faculty. You must have your passport booklet stamped after you attend an event.
Passport events include many of the out-of-class lectures, films, and gatherings held by various organizations and departments within the College that are advertised as Passport events. You should get in the habit of regularly checking your CHC e-mail account, the Portal (my.chc.edu) for on campus event and activities.
