Welcome to the New Dean of Graduate Studies

William (B.J.) Cunningham, Ph.D.,

William Cunningham, Ph.D., joined CHC as the new Dean of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) on August 14.

He has more than 25 years’ experience in academic and student programs including with strategic planning, assessment and program reviews, curriculum development, regional and specialized accreditation and global education. His areas of expertise include teaching, research and training in conflict resolution.

Dr. Cunningham holds a Ph.D. in conflict analysis and resolution from George Mason University, master’s degrees from the University of Auckland (political studies) and American University (political science), and a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Gettysburg College.

He served in a range of appointments at the University of the Sciences from 2003 to 2017, including Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Dean of Students and Assistant Professor. Prior to joining the University of the Sciences, Dr. Cunningham worked in judicial affairs and graduate programs at American University and in administrative roles at the University of Auckland.
