Welcome to Chestnut Hill College!

At CHC, we know that the transition to college is a big one, which is why we have a two part orientation experience for all new students. In July, you will attend Griffin GO sessions, where you will have the opportunity to learn about academics, student life, and financial information.In August, you will attend an orientation experience where you will learn about important information, meet other new students and get to know campus! Both experiences are important to your success as a new Griffin! Be sure to visit the New Student Guide on the MyCHC portal so that you can complete important documents and find about great opportunities. 

New Student Guide

The New Student Guide is on an important to do list for all new Griffins. The to do list includes important forms and placement tests that are requried of new students in the School of Undergraduate Studies at Chestnut Hill College.

Griffin GO: Virtual Pre-Orientation

Griffin GO is a way for new students to learn about information and resources and also to meet other new students, orientation leaders, and faculty and staff members. 

Virtual pre-orientation will include a series of required and optional online meetings and information sessions. These include academic advising, student financial services, and student life sessions in addition to other small group meetings. Registration and additional information is now available on the New Student Guide so be sure to sign up today!


Money Matters

Description: Get your financial questions answered during this important financial session. The session includes a presentation, Q&A, and the opportunity to sign up for an optional individual meeting. This session is required.

Academic Advising

Description: Learn about academics and resources to help you successfully navigate your college experience. This session is required.

Student Life

Description: Learn what it means to be a Griffin outside of the classroom at CHC. You will be introduced to a range of resources and important information about co-curricular life at CHC. This session is required.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is an important experience for incoming first year students and transfers. The weekend helps students adjust to life at CHC through fun activities, educational programs, and the introduction to helpful resources. All students are assigned to an orientation team when they check-in. Each team has a dedicated group of Orientation Leaders who will help new students navigate not just the orientation weekend, but also are available to assist throughout the fall semester. New Student Orientation is August 29th-August 30th, 2020*. Please note that activities will occur for resident students on the evening of Friday, August 28th after move-in is complete. Orientation activities will officially get underway on the morning of Saturday, August 29th for residents and commuters.

*COVID-19 Note- We are continuing to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and will make appropriate adjustments to New Student Orientation as needed and required. We are working on plans that prioritize the health and safety of our new students, orientation leaders, and faculty and staff.

Check-in for New Student Orientation*:

Resident Students- Friday, August 28th. You will be assigned a move-in time. Please check your email closer to the date for the exact time and important details.

Commuter Students- Saturday, August 29th between 10:00am and 12:00pm outside of the Library
