Welcome to Chestnut Hill College!

At CHC, we know that the transition to college is a big one, which is why we have a two part orientation experience for all new students. In July, you will attend a Griffin Day, where you will have the opportunity to take placement tests, get your ID picture taken and much, much more. Families will also have the opportunity to attend the Griffin Day with a schedule tailored just for them that includes sessions on student life, academics and finances. In August, you will attend a three day orientation experience where you will learn about important information, meet other new students and get to know campus! Both experiences are important to your success as a new Griffin! Be sure to visit the New Student Guide on the MyCHC portal so that you can complete important documents and find about great opportunities.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is a three day experience for incoming first year students and transfers. The weekend helps students adjust to life at CHC through fun activities, educational programs, and the introduction to helpful resources. All students are assigned to an orientation team when they check-in. Each team has a dedicated group of Orientation Leaders who will help new students navigate not just the orientation weekend, but also are available to assist throughout the fall semester. New Student Orientation is August 24th-August 26th.

LENS Pre-Orientation Activity (Application Required)

The Leadership, Engagement, and Service (LENS) program brings together incoming Chestnut Hill College students for a four day immersion into Philadelphia. This service-based summer program exposes students to a variety of community and social justice issues occurring in the city, and introduces them to SSJ sponsored works and community partners working to solve these issues.

In addition to community service and reflection activities, students participating in the LENS program will be able to take advantage of the many cultural opportunities available to us in Philadelphia. Cultural events range from museum trips to sporting events, and will differ each year.

The LENS program is designed to connect like-minded first-year students who wish to become involved in the culture of service at Chestnut Hill College, and have a lot of fun at the same time!  This program is ideal for students who have an interest in continuing a strong commitment to community service, as well as for students who wish to turn over a new leaf or get involved in community service for the first time. The application for the 2018-2019 LENS program is now be available on the my.CHC portal. If you have any questions, or would like more information about the LENS program please contact Ryan Murphy at 215.248.7032 or murphyr@chc.edu.
