The Montessori Teacher Education Program offers courses on the philosophy and educational theory of Dr. Maria Montessori and the application of her method in the classroom prepare students for the nine-month internship phase in a Montessori school. Completion of this program qualifies a student for an Early Childhood Credential from the American Montessori Society (AMS), entitling the graduate to work with children from the age of two and a half to six years in a Montessori environment.

Program Description 

The Montessori certificate program consists of seven (7) courses plus a year-long internship.  Courses are offered during the fall and spring semesters; some courses are also available as one-week intensive sessions during the summer.  Note: Students must take either the Montessori Philosophy & Education Theory or the Montessori Everyday Living/Art course as a prerequisite for all other Montessori courses.
