Jeffrey Carroll, Ph.D.
Jeffrey N. Carroll, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Center for Data & Society (D&S), a faculty collaboration among the computer, mathematical, and social sciences whose mission is to investigate how data and information can be best used to understand the communities in which we live. D&S's programs are comprised of 9 distinct major programs and 13 minor programs that include the Minor in Data Studies for Social Good (DSSG). Jeffrey was recently appointed to a three year term as the First Vice President of the Pennsylvania Political Science Association.
Jeffrey's scholarly interests lie in American Politics with special attention to urban affairs, social geography, and civic engagement. He has been an invited speaker nationally and internationally with his most recent work focusing squarely on race and political inequality in American political institutions. Other projects delve into the political geography of Philadelphia's voters, PA state and local public policy, and the (under)development of American democratic institutions with his long-time colleague, Dr. David Contosta. Jeffrey's work has been published in Journal of Political Science Education, Transforming Government: People, Process and Policy, Commonwealth: Journal of Pennsylvania Politics and Policy, Pennsylvania Geographer, Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal and has been featured in national media outlets such as The New York Times and Newsweek and numerous regional outlets like the Philadelphia Citizen and Philadelphia Hall Monitor.
Other recent public facing activities include "Beatlab" (Philadelphia's first hip-hop centric music studio that fosters messages of social justice), a political affairs podcast, a student-led radio show on politics and mental health, and initiatives that seek to bolster civic understanding and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Jeffrey is also co-founder of Urbicus LLC, a Philadelphia based non-partisan government relations firm that specializes in research, public relations, training for current and aspiring elected officials and helping communities navigate local government. Jeffrey played a key role in political campaigns for a number of state and local offices including: PA House and Senate, Philadelphia City Council, Court of Common Pleas, and City Commissioner.
Susan Ceklosky, M.S.
Susan Ceklosky has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She received a Master of Software Engineering Degree from Penn State University.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Susan accepted a software consultant position with Andersen Consulting, now Accenture. While working for Andersen Consulting, her primary role was as a programmer/developer. She gained extensive knowledge in the C and C++ programming languages, UNIX scripting, and SQL. She worked for Andersen Consulting for four years and then accepted a software engineer position with Verizon. She was given a wide array of work experience while employed for Verizon. She was the lead member of a Requirements, Analysis and Design team where she completed levels of effort, general and detailed designs. She was a member of Verizon's Software Engineering Process Group where she planned process improvement programs and worked with senior management to align the programs with Verizon’s business goals. She led a team of 15 software engineers in the development of web service interfaces to increase customer self-service using the Verizon.com platform for ordering and billing.
Susan has been a college instructor since 2010. She has broad knowledge of teaching and organizing a virtual learning environment. She has taught a wide variety of Computer Science courses including Programming Languages, Data Structures, Systems Analysis and Design, Algorithms in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Application Development and Design, Web Programming, Database Design & Development, Database Security, Mobile Application Programming, Team Programming Techniques
Pamela King, M.S.
Pamela King worked for nearly 20 years in law enforcement as a civilian specialist in digital forensics and cybersecurity for a federal program providing investigative support and information sharing regionally to state and local law enforcement agencies. While working in law enforcement, she produced tactical and strategic intelligence analysis for law enforcement and supported active high technology investigations by extracting evidence from digital media and computers. She conducted numerous professional training seminars in cybercrime and digital forensics for state, local, federal, tribal, international, and military police. She was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for the Computer Analysis and Response Team (CART) assigned to the NJRCFL (New Jersey Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory). Following this, she worked in private industry doing cyber investigations, digital forensics, and e-discovery for over a decade. During her career, she was also the manager of several IT departments and was responsible for cybersecurity infrastructure, standard operating procedures, audits and assessment.
She began teaching at various colleges as an adjunct for courses in digital forensics, computer science, cybersecurity and criminal justice beginning in 2007. In 2014, she began working as a full time faculty instructor at CHC in the Computer Science and Information Technology Department in the Center of Data & Society. She teaches, advises students, and manages programs for the School of Undergraduate Studies Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity (BS) degree programs, and the School of Graduate Studies Cybersecurity (MS) degree program.
Kenneth Pyle
Ken Pyle is a partner and chief information security officer of DFDR Consulting. He has specialized in information security, computer forensics, enterprise virtualization, and network engineering. Ken has an extensive background in network penetration and remediation, compliance, and secure design. Prior to joining DFDR, he served as a security and network engineer for several information technology companies and as the IT director/security engineer of a large accounting firm. Ken has consulted with financial institutions, banks, government defense contractors, and other highly secure facilities on issues of information security, computer forensics, and secure network design. Ken has lectured on information security and has published several white papers on subjects including public information gathering via social networking and social engineering. Ken was a featured speaker at the 2014, 2013 and 2012 Wolters Kluwer CCH User Conference, lecturing on “Information Security and Defending the Enterprise” and “Anatomy of a Cyber Attack.” Ken is a regular lecturer and presenter on information security and has presented for several accounting associations and professional organizations, including Prime Global, RBMA, and AGN. Ken is also a subject matter expert for information security, appearing in industry publications such as Accounting Today and the New Jersey Law Journal. He was also recognized as a “40 under 40” by South Jersey Business People in 2015. He holds numerous security and technology certifications from companies such as Guidance Software, EC-Council, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA, and AccessData. Ken has published several software vulnerabilities and exploits, and is an active researcher. He is currently working on a book concentrating on cybersecurity, forensics and secure design.

Jacqueline C. Reich, Ph.D.
Andrea Wentzell, M.A.
Andrea Wentzell is a graduate of Chestnut Hill College, having gained her degree in Communications and Technology in 2015. During her time at Chestnut Hill College, she served on the boards of the Computer Club, The Griffin, and The Grackle. She immediately went on to complete an M.A. at La Salle University in 2016 in Professional and Business Communications.
After graduating from La Salle, Andrea went on to work for Danella Companies in Plymouth Meeting, PA as the Marketing Coordinator where she did video and website programming, development, and content creation.
Since 2019, Andrea has served as the Executive Director for the nonprofit Brave Hearts for Strong Minds. BHSM supports children that have lost a parent/guardian with 529 education plan funds through an annual walk. She has also worked with numerous other nonprofits and small businesses to build out their online presence
