PC/Network Technician

Department: Academic Computing

Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Purpose:

Chestnut Hill College is seeking a dedicated and proactive PC/Network Technician to join our Information Technology Team.

In this vital campus-wide role, the PC/Network Technician will help keep technology running smoothly by providing hands-on support for PCs and network systems including staging, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of computers and related equipment. This role collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure a reliable and responsive tech environment that supports the College’s mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Install/troubleshoot/replace/repair desktop computer systems and peripherals.
  • Create add/remove users in Active Directory and 365 environments.
  • Install/uninstall/configure hardware drivers, applications and utilities software.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and configure Windows 10, Windows 11, and Server Active Directory.
  • Connect and disconnect network connections at desktop and in the wiring closets.
  • Monitor voicemail, helpdesk email, and keep helpdesk task list up-to-date; be prepared to respond quickly to helpdesk requests.
  • Maintain records of solutions to issues that have been addressed.
  • Assist students in labs when needed.
  • Make use of work-study students as appropriate.
  • Repair, configure problematic software issues for students (viruses, malware, network configuration problems, etc.).
  • Assist in the area of video production and AV when requested.
  • Maintain contacts with vendor and external technical support sources.
  • Keep records of work and provide reports when asked.
  • Be available by page throughout shift.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Two years in education or experience in related IT field.
  • A+ and/or MS certification(s).
