Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach (Part-Time, Seasonal)

Position Summary
Chestnut Hill College seeks an enthusiastic, student-centered leader to serve as the Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach for its NCAA Division II athletics program. This part-time, seasonal position provides an exciting opportunity to lead and grow two competitive tennis programs while mentoring student-athletes in their athletic, academic, and personal development.
Working closely with the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of the men’s and women’s tennis programs, including recruiting, player development, practice and competition planning, program administration, and compliance with NCAA, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and College policies. The successful candidate will foster a culture of integrity, sportsmanship, academic excellence, and competitive success while supporting the mission and values of Chestnut Hill College.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, club, or comparable competitive level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of tennis instruction, player development, training techniques, and match strategy.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to mentoring and supporting student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct consistent with the mission and values of Chestnut Hill College.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree.
- Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II and CACC rules and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
The Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of the men’s and women’s tennis programs, including:
- Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes in collaboration with the Offices of Admissions and Athletics.
- Plan, organize, and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, competitions, and player development activities.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes academic achievement, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coach(es).
- Develop competitive schedules in collaboration with the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Assist with the purchasing and management of team equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA, CACC, College, and departmental rules, policies, and procedures, including the timely completion of all required NCAA coaching education modules.
- Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and promote academic success by coordinating team activities around class schedules and examinations.
- Maintain appropriate standards of conduct for student-athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and all College-related activities.
- Represent Chestnut Hill College with professionalism and integrity while building positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, alumni, officials, opponents, faculty, staff, and supporters.
- Attend departmental, conference, and NCAA meetings as required.
- Coordinate annual team awards and recognition activities.
- Maintain current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
