Guided by the Mission of the College, the Campus Minister is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a student-centered campus ministry program. Campus Ministry at Chestnut Hill College focuses on the growth and development of the whole person in relationship to God, self, and others. Offering opportunities for all to engage both heart and mind, Campus Ministry seeks to give students a groundwork to discover who they are and who they’re becoming through service, spirituality, and community building. Campus Ministry empowers students to create community, rooted in faith that is integrated into their daily life through experience, discernment, and the promotion of justice. The Campus Minister collaborates with members of the Office of Mission & Ministry, as well as other divisions and departments to support the spiritual well-being of the College community.
This is a 9-month full-time position in the Office of Mission & Ministry beginning in September.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pastoral Ministry
- Be visible and available within the college community to enhance a spiritual presence and assist in the spiritual formation of all members of the College. Participate in College-wide and student events.
- Foster an environment of inclusivity and support regarding concerns about spiritual growth, values, personal crisis, and grief.
Service and Justice Programs
- Coordinate Campus Ministry’s service program through maintaining relationships with community partners, scheduling and transporting students to off-campus service experiences.
- Structure student leadership and reflection opportunities rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.
- Facilitate justice education and advocacy opportunities inside and outside the classroom in collaboration with campus stakeholders. (E.g. Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, Undocuweek).
Retreats, Prayer, and Liturgy:
- Design regular retreat opportunities and other spiritual programming (on and off campus) that meet the needs of our student population.
- Plan and execute various prayer experiences, including Catholic masses and interfaith services, for the College community. Provide opportunities for involvement of the college community in the liturgical life of the church and participate in liturgical worship.
- Expose the community to diverse forms of prayer and reflection.
Administration:
- Oversee the marketing and social media for Campus Ministry as a tool for community engagement.
- Manage Campus Ministry budget and office: order supplies, pay bills, track donations, balance monthly statements, oversee fundraising activities, schedule events on College calendar, schedule transportation, etc.
- Supervise the Graduate Assistant and student workers.
- Organize divisional meetings and retreats with the Executive Director for Mission & Ministry
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant experience in campus ministry or similar pastoral/spiritual leadership roles.
- Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and ritual with an inclusive, faith-based approach to community building.
- Demonstrated commitment to the role of spiritual growth and call to service in an inclusive Catholic community.
