Transfer of Credits 

Chestnut Hill College will accept up to 75 transfer credits provided the courses meet the criteria outlined below. Regardless of the number of credits transferred to the College, students must complete a minimum of 45 academic credits at Chestnut Hill College in order to earn a degree. Students must also meet all applicable Core and Major Requirements as outlined in the catalog, which may require them to complete more than 45 academic credits.  
In order for a course to be accepted in transfer, it must meet the following criteria: 

• The student earned a grade of C (2.0) or better; 
• An official transcript has been received; and 
• The course was completed within ten years prior to Chestnut Hill College admission or readmission.

These courses are evaluated on an individual basis; only the credit is transferred and grades for these courses are not calculated into the cumulative GPA. An additional review is required for any course taken more than ten years prior to admission. Some departments may require a review if the courses were taken fewer than ten years prior to admission to Chestnut Hill College. The individual department will make final decisions regarding the allocation of credits. Students may be required to provide course descriptions and/or syllabi.

Articulation Agreements

Chestnut Hill College maintains articulation agreements and/or course equivalency agreements with six two-year institutions. Upon completion of an Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), students may be eligible for Dual Admission. Submit your Dual Admissions Intent Form today to become eligible for transfer benefits. Intent Forms and fact sheets can be obtained in the Guidance or Transfer Offices at the following partner colleges:

Core-to-Core Transfer

Students completing their A.A. or A.S. at partner schools may receive a core-to-core transfer and begin studies at Chestnut Hill with third-year (junior) status.  The core-to-core transfer agreement, although it does not alter the requirements of a student's major field of study, satisfies the core curriculum requirements of a Chestnut Hill bachelor's degree, except for six (6) credits in Religious Studies and three (3) credits in a Global Awareness Seminar to be taken at Chestnut Hill College.

Dual Enrolled High School Students

Students simultaneously earning their A.A. or A.S. while still enrolled in high school should apply as a Transfer Student and may receive a core-to-core transfer and begin studies at Chestnut Hill with third-year (junior) status. Status will be determined by credits earned, and students must submit official transcripts from BOTH the high school and the college where credits are being earned.
