Consideration for the Tichenor-Greer scholarship will be given to all high school students who apply and meet the following criteria:
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Qualifying for financial aid in accordance with the Federal Department of Education FAFSA regulations
- Major in either one of the science, technology or math majors available at Chestnut Hill College:
- Biochemistry
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer and Information Sciences
- Computer and Information Technology
- Computer Systems Management
- Cybersecurity
- Digital Forensics
- Environmental Sciences
- Forensic Biology
- Forensic Chemistry
- Health and Exercise Science
- Health Sciences
- Mathematics
- Mathematical and Computer Science
- Molecular Biology
- Sports Medicine
- Participation in community service and/or extracurricular activities during high school
- Be from a population traditionally underrepresented in STEM majors and careers
In order to retain the scholarship each year throughout college, students must:
- Maintain a grade point average of at least 2.5
- Qualify for financial aid in accordance with the Federal Department of Education FAFSA regulations
- Remain in good standing in one of the science, technology or math majors available at Chestnut Hill College (listed above)
- Be engaged in community service activities
- Attend weekly (first-year students) or scheduled (sophomore – senior students) academic counseling and advising sessions
- Attend any required tutoring sessions
- Attend planned support and social activities
The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year with preference for renewing the award to the same recipient in each subsequent year, for four years, providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility. Scholarships, once designated, cannot be reassigned.
