Student Parking Permits

Student Parking Permits

Student permits are valid from September 1st – August 31st of each year and the price varies based on resident status (this includes the permit, a transaction fee and shipping & handling). Residential freshman and sophomore students are not allowed to park on campus without appropriate permission.

A student (Resident, Commuter, AADP/SGS) parking permit is valid in all student parking spaces. Please note that this DOES NOT include Fournier Circle, the lot behind Fournier, Brennan Drive (aka The Hill) or any other spot marked  Reserved, Faculty/Staff and/or Green Sticker Parking. Parking in these spaces will result in a ticket. Failure to pay tickets may also result in a hold being placed on a student’s account.

Commuter Permit: any undergraduate student who does not live on campus. These permits cost $150.

Resident Permit: resident juniors and seniors are permitted to park on the main campus or SugarLoaf campus (depending on the parking permit purchased). Permits for main campus parking for residents cost $165.

AADP/SGS Permit: students who are in the Accelerated Adult Degree Program and the School of Graduate Studies (evening students). Permits for AADP students cost $150.

SugarLoaf Permit: any student (excluding first and second-year students) who would like a parking pass for strictly SugarLoaf. These permits are only valid for parking on the SugarLoaf campus and cost $70.

Special Permission:  Parking privileges are not granted to first-year (freshmen status) and sophomore resident students. As a small residential campus, there are many opportunities for student engagement both in and out of class. Student success and satisfaction tend to be significantly higher when a student is actively involved in the community. While cars provide convenience, the temptation to leave can be counterproductive at this crucial stage in the student’s college career. It would be more beneficial to invest in establishing a solid base at Chestnut Hill, building friendships, and becoming involved in campus activities. Also, there is limited parking available on campus. Chestnut Hill also operates a shuttle service that allows students to conveniently reach shopping centers and public transportation without the need for a car. Therefore, first-year and sophomore resident students are granted parking permits by special permission only due to extraordinary circumstances.
