Tutoring

Tutoring by professional and student tutors is a free service offered to CHC students enrolled in math courses. Due to the temporary closure of the Math Resource Center, all tutoring for the semester will be done remotely using Teams, Zoom, or other telecommunications tools. At the tutoring session, students need to have handy the work they completed or attempted on their own, as well as their syllabus and notes.

Math Placement Testing

calendar iconWhat you need to know:

All students new to CHC must take the Math Placement Test.  The test is a standardized test developed by the College Board. It measures your understanding of basic arithmetic and beginning algebra concepts and skills.

The placement results are on your myCHC.edu account and given in one of four levels:  Level 1 or 2 qualifies you to register in math classes required for your major. Level 3 or 4 indicates that you need one or more remedial math classes prior to those required by your major. To prepare, review the worksheets and a list of skills shown below in the Test Preparation Resources area. Some tutoring is also available prior to testing.

Click on the calendar icon to sign up for your math placement test.
