Suzanne del Gizzo, Ph.D.

Chair, Center for Integrated Humanities
Professor of English

Dr. Suzanne del Gizzo is a Professor of English at Chestnut Hill College, Chair of CHC’s Center for Integrated Humanities, and editor of The Hemingway Review.  At Chestnut Hill, she teaches a variety of courses in American literature, gender studies, film, and writing.  She has published more than thirty articles in scholarly journals and has co-edited three books, Ernest Hemingway in Context (Cambridge UP, 2013) with Debra A. Moddelmog, Ernest Hemingway’s The Garden of Eden:  25 Years of Criticism (Kent State UP, 2012) with Frederic J. Svoboda, and most recently, The New Hemingway Studies with Kirk Curnutt for Cambridge University Press (2020).

Cheryl Kennedy, B.A.

Instructor of Media & Communication

Ms. Kennedy is a 1987 graduate of Chestnut Hill College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Communications. Radio has been her passion since high school. Ms. Kennedy has been actively on the air as a Traffic Reporter in Philadelphia for 31 years. She works for Total Traffic & Weather Network, an IHeart Media Company, located in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Cheryl can be heard on a number of radio stations in Philadelphia, South Jersey and in the Harrisburg, PA area, including reports for Philadelphia on SiriusXM, and on the following radio stations; Classix 107.9 FM, 100.3 FM WRNB and Philadelphia's AM 990 The Answer. 

Cheryl is the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award from Chestnut Hill College in 2015. Ms. Kennedy has been an Adjunct Instructor at CHC since 2014

Brice Nixon, Ph.D.

Chair, Media and Communication
Assistant Professor of Media and Communication

Brice Nixon teaches in the areas of journalism and media studies. He is faculty advisor to The Griffin, CHC's student news publication. His research examines media industries, and his current focus is the ways in which industries capitalize on attention, treating it as a source of value and object of control.

Prior to CHC, he taught at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Temple University, Ursinus College, Baruch College, and the University of La Verne. He was a visiting scholar at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Paris 8. He has a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, an M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University and a B.A. in Journalism from the University of La Verne. Brice was also a sports journalist in Los Angeles for six years.

Gail Ramsey

Gail Ramsey, M.A.

Assistant Professor of Media and Communication

Gail Ramsey holds an M.A. in communication from American University and a B.A. in administration of justice from Temple University. She worked most of her professional career in the legal profession as a paralegal specialist managing presentations for high-profile trials. During her career, Gail has served as media relations spokespersons for cases. Gail teaches at the intersection of media and law and is the author of articles on courtroom drama and headline news. She held various teaching and administrative roles at Montgomery County Community College for nine years before joining the faculty at Chestnut Hill College in the Media & Communication Department as an adjunct faculty and later promoted to an assistant professor and supervisor of Griffin PR, the student-run public relations agency. Gail has directed student campaigns for the Philadelphia Police Department, Gift of Life and Philadelphia Phillies.

Charlene Zengeya

Charlene Zengeya, Ph.D.

Director of Student Outreach and Success
Student Success Advisor, Center for Integrated Humanities

Dr. Charlene Zengeya is Director of Student Outreach and Student Success Advisor in the Center for Integrated Humanities. In her position, Dr. Zengeya uses a holistic advising approach to help students navigate classes, campus life, finances, career and other resources.

Dr. Zengeya has spent more than 15 years’ in various leadership roles in higher education where she has championed various student success initiatives. Throughout her career, she has successfully coached and mentored students by providing holistic solutions that promote student wellness, academic and career success. She also serves the CHC community as an NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor.

Dr. Charlene Zengeya holds a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, a Master of Science Degree from North Carolina A&T State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from High Point University.
