About Us
Founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1924, Chestnut Hill College is an independent, Catholic institution rooted in a strong liberal arts tradition that fosters equality through holistic education. Distinguished by its strong mission, collegial environment, and dedication to personalized instruction through a small faculty-to-student ratio, the College promotes the spiritual, academic, social, ethical, and moral development of the whole person. Located in the charming Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, it serves a culturally diverse student body.
The Center for Data & Society brings together the computer, mathematical, and social sciences to explore how data can be used to better understand and support our communities. Cybersecurity is housed within the Computer Science Department, which recently revamped its offerings under a new Computer & Information Technology degree with concentrations in management, programming, application development, interactive design, AI/ML, and more.
Cybersecurity also supports new interdisciplinary majors in Business Analytics, Data Science, and the Data Studies for Social Good minor. Our courses prepare students for careers in law enforcement, industry, and government, with a strong foundation in programming, networking, security, forensics, and project management.
