For international students looking to study at CHC 

Chestnut Hill College welcomes international students from six continents and offers a wide variety of rigorous academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The safe, inclusive, and supportive nature of the College community is ideal for international students, and they appreciate the security and serenity of a suburban-style campus while enjoying the benefits of downtown Philadelphia—the fifth largest metropolitan area in the United States!

Excellent local and regional public transportation systems provide easy access to world-renowned destinations, including New York City and the nation’s capital, Washington D.C.

Chestnut Hill College has established exchange agreements with the institutions listed below that allow students from these universities to attend CHC for study or research programs. Please note, CHC does accept short-term visiting students who are not from our recognized exchange partners.

Students arriving on the exchange are fully integrated into college life and have full access to all the services that Chestnut Hill College offers. Academically, students will have a primary department but can take any courses for which they have the necessary academic preparation or background. We encourage students to look at courses across a range of disciplines as this fits CHC’s ethos as an inclusive liberal arts institution.

 

Global Exchange Information

Chestnut Hill College has partner universities all around the world. CHC welcomes exchange and visiting students to study for a semester or year on our campus. Exchange and visiting students must apply to their own university for study at CHC. If your university is not a partner of CHC, the Global Education Office program enables students from around the world to study at CHC as part of their home degree where an exchange agreement is not in place. Students can choose from a range of different subject areas and CHC tuition fees are applicable.

The Enrollment Process

Interested visiting or exchange students should follow this general process:

  1. Apply through your university’s international office for the exchange or visiting program with CHC.
  2. Once you have been accepted by your university, your university will notify our office and you will need to complete the CHC Visiting and Exchange Student Application Form.
  3. Visiting and Exchange Applications should be completed using the PDF form, printed, scanned, and then e-mailed to the Global Education Office.

Complete and Submit Health Form and Immunization Records
All students must create a Med+Proctor profile using their CHC ID and upload all necessary forms to the site. Physical and Immunization forms can be found on the website and are to be completed by a medical provider and uploaded to Med+Proctor (instructions found here).

Purchase comprehensive health insurance while you are in the United States. PGH Global offers a number of policies for international students: Global Care Basic, Global Care Plus, Global Care Preferred, and Global Care Intercollegiate Sports Plus.

Pre-arrival form
International students who have been accepted to Chestnut Hill College (CHC) are required to submit a pre-arrival form (included in the application) 2 weeks before the start of mandatory International Student Orientation.
Please keep in mind the application deadlines:

  • Visiting/Exchange student applications for the spring semester are due by October 1
  • Visiting/Exchange student applications for the fall semester are due by April 1

  • Information for obtaining I-20 and student visas
  • Pre-admission correspondence
