Data Science is a field that lies at the intersection of mathematics, social science and computing. The B.S. in Data Science program introduces students to the principles and ethics of handling and storing data, teaches the newest techniques in processing and handling data, and concludes with a capstone that requires the student to demonstrate their full toolkit of skills to tell a story using data in the real-world.

Data Science is a cutting-edge, growing field with limitless potential. The B.S. in Data Science program teaches skills that that are in demand across all industries including but not limited to data analysis, data mining (analyzing large datasets for correlation) and data visualization (use of graphs, charts, maps and other illustrations).
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, data-related occupations are projected to grow faster than other occupations in 2021-2031, with data scientists achieving the fastest growth (36% – much faster than average) of data occupations. The national median annual pay for data scientists was $112,590 per in May 2024 and is currently growing with the Bachelor’s degree being the typical entry-level education.
