Join Dr. Rachel Hull, CHC Psy.D. alumna and current adjunct professor, and Year IV Psy.D. student Noah Sirianni as they share their research on the history of Pennhurst Asylum and the role psychologists play as mental health advocates.

This presentation will cover the history of Pennhurst State School and Hospital from its inception in the early 20th century until the present day. The presentation will focus on the injustices which occurred at the facility throughout its existence and illustrate the important role that Pennhurst played in the deinstitutionalization movement. It will then shift to discuss how psychologists can advocate for those with intellectual and physical disabilities and affect change at the macro-level.

This event is free to attend and open to the public, however we ask that you register in order to help us prepare. Contact Rachel Hull (hullr@chc.edu) for more information and to make an accommodation request related to a disability.
