Everyone is invited to join David Contosta, Ph.D., professor of history, and Hilton Oyamaguchi, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, for a screening of their faculty-student produced short film, “Philadelphia’s Urban Heat Islands: Climate Inequality, History, and Cool Solutions.” The 15-minute documentary explores how 1930s redlining policies in Philadelphia continue to shape today’s urban heat islands.

The film was created through an interdisciplinary collaboration between environmental science, history, and IDHP students. We invited the community to share feedback and join a conversation on local solutions for climate justice in Philadelphia.
