Chestnut Hill College is thrilled to welcome back to campus, Aisha Ghias, MD, MSc, PA, MPH, and alumna of the class of 2000, to give her second biomedical lecture as part of the Distinguished Biomedical Lecture Series. Now in its 33rd year, the series recognizes the outstanding and groundbreaking accomplishments of some of the world’s top scientists and physicians. Past lecturers include four Nobel laureates, Laskar Award winners, elected members of the National Academy of Sciences, team physicians for Philadelphia sports teams, and those at the top of their fields celebrated for transformative research and innovation.

Ghias, who is currently a pulmonary care fellow at NYU Langone Health in Long Island, New York, returned to her alma mater in November 2021 to offer the 28th Annual Biomedical Distinguished Lecture, titled, “Covid 19: A Clinician’s personal perspective on lessons learned in the Pulmonary critical care unit and beyond.”

A Board-Certified practicing physician assistant with over 10 years experience in intensive care, interventional radiology, and internal medicine, Ghias completed her residency in internal medicine. She is the principal author of an article published in the prestigious JAMA medical journal and holds multiple degrees both in and outside of the world of medicine.
