Cathie Meighan, SSJ, ’87 will present her M.F.A. thesis exhibit of paintings from Friday, October 5 through Thursday, November 15 in the Dwight V. Dowley Gallery on the fifth floor of the Rotunda, St. Joseph Hall. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on Thursday, October 25 from 4 to 7 pm. in the gallery. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. through 7 p.m. daily.

Chestnut Hill College will host a Fair Trade and Alternative Gift Giving event on Wednesday, November 7 from 12-4 p.m. in the Rotunda of St. Joseph's Hall on the College campus. Guests are invited to learn more about fair trade and purchase a variety of fair trade products from different organizations.
There will be tables set up with goods from numerous fair trade organizations, including Ten Thousand Villages, Unified for UNIFAT, Spoil Yourself Recycled, the Sisters of St. Joseph Earth Center, Guatemalan Goodies and Imani Workshops. Vendors will be selling a variety of fair trade goods, such as clothing, chocolate, coffee, bags, jewelry and cards.

Chestnut Hill College will host training for The Soldiers Project Pennsylvania on “Military Sexual Trauma” on Thursday, November 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Redmond Room, St. Joseph Hall.
The presentation will define and describe military sexual trauma (MST) as well as explain some of the difficulties both female and male survivors of MST may have now and years later. It will also examine why many survivors do not come forward while in the service, regrettably suffering in silence. Services available for MST survivors will be explained and contact information provided.
There is a $25.00 charge for those attending who are not members of The Soldiers Project PA, with or without CEUs. Registration is required and payment can be made at the door. Please email Sister Nancy DeCesare, Ph.D. at

Chestnut Hill College will show the film “Journey of the Universe: The Epic Story of Cosmic, Earth and Human Transformation” on Monday, November 26, at 7 p.m. in the East Parlor of St. Joseph Hall. Beginning at 8:30 p.m., following the screening, weather permitting, guests will be able to visit the College’s observatory and look through its 14-inch Celestron telescope.
“Journey of the Universe” follows cosmic, earth and human transformation. The dramatic, expansive film re-imagines the creation of the universe and reframes the human connection to the cosmos. For more information, please see press release
