At the school we provide one on one ministry with the students in the classroom, help with computers, or maybe the music room!

The Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation presents the program, “JUST Listening” on Friday, March 8 from 9:30 a.m.-noon in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.
JUST Listening is an effort to foster social change by practicing, promoting and teaching other-centered, compassionate, and non-judgmental listening skills. The program is an essential tool in helping to promote civility and learn skills in dialogue.
Sharon Browning will present the JUST Listening program. She is the former executive director of Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP), the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, and also taught for 15 years in the Sociology Department at Chestnut Hill College. She is a trained mediator, retreat facilitator, spiritual guide and teacher, focusing on the needs of marginalized individuals and groups.

Chestnut Hill College will host training for The Soldiers Project Pennsylvania on “Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Traumatization, and Self Care for Mental Health Professionals” on Thursday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the East Parlor, St. Joseph Hall.
The training will discuss the latest research findings on the neuro-psychological and socio-emotional manifestations of compassion fatigue and vicarious traumatization. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs that one might be struggling with compassion fatigue and/or vicarious traumatization or Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder. Various self-care techniques will be explored for mitigating the effects of compassion fatigue/vicarious traumatization.
There is a $25.00 charge for those attending who are not members of The Soldiers Project PA, with or without CEUs. Registration is required and payment can be made at the door. Please email Sister Nancy DeCesare, Ph.D. at decesaren@chc.edu to register.

Student Activities wishes you and your family a safe and happy Easter!
Easter Break- 3/28-4/1. Classes resume on 4/2.

Join us in serving either at Our Mother of Sorrows Parish Outreach Center or OMS/St. Ignatius Elementary School.
At the Outreach Center we can be found in the kitchen preparing meals for the following week for their visitors who come for the hot meals. Or, we can be found painting a room, stocking the food pantry shelves or....you name it!
At the school we provide one on one ministry with the students in the classroom, help with computers, or maybe the music room!
