Student Success

teacher advising student

We want you to successfully navigate your years at Chestnut Hill College and achieve your academic goals. Student Success Advisors provide individual attention and support whenever you need it. Current students can visit my.chc.edu for resources or can contact the Office of Student Success to schedule an appointment or ask for support.  Here are some of the ways we support you:

Academic Advising Assistance

Our office provides a variety of academic advising assistance, including registration support, selecting a major, faculty advisor meeting presentation and transfer process support.

Registration Support

When registering for the next semesters’ classes, it is quite common to have a few questions and our student success advisors are a great resource. They are available to assist students with questions regarding course selection, registration, graduation requirements, and off-campus study.

Selecting a Major

With so many career options available, it can be challenging to know what major makes the most sense for a student. The Office of Student Success is available to assist students with the process of exploring, evaluating, and choosing an academic program of study.

Faculty Advisor Meeting Preparation

Your faculty advisor is likely one of the most meaningful relationships you will build in your time at CHC. Your faculty advisor is a great resource for course selection, internship opportunities, and career and graduate school advice. Make the most of your time together by preparing an outline of your next semester courses and a list of questions and topics you want to cover with your advisor. The Office of Student Success is happy to assist in preparation.

Transfer Process Support

Students considering transferring to another college are encouraged to meet with the office to discuss the transfer process. There are a few items to take care of before leaving CHC, and our Office of Student Success can help to navigate the process.

College Success Plans

The Office of Student Success is committed to helping students make the most of their college experience and will proactively reach out to students throughout their time at CHC to offer individual support and guidance.

Goal Setting & Action Plans

All students have expectations about their college experience. Some students want to get straight A’s, others want to get a good internship, others want to be a campus leader, and many want to do all three and more! No matter what you’d like to accomplish, it can be challenging to do so without a plan. The staff in the Office of Student Success will guide students in identifying their individual goals for their college experience and assist them in developing an action plan in order to achieve them.

Students Experiencing Obstacles

College is an exciting time, but it can also be very challenging. Students may experience obstacles during their time at CHC, whether academic, social, emotional, health-related or family emergencies, that may prevent them from completing their college goals. At these times, the staff in the Office of Student Success will assist students in brainstorming solutions and developing an action plan in order to help students stay on track and accomplish their individual educational goals.
