Forensic Chemistry

Fundamentally, chemistry is the study of matter in the universe and how it changes. Modern chemistry is central to our lives and impacts diverse fields such as medicine, energy generation, cosmetics, food production, and more. The curriculum for chemistry majors is varied and includes specialization in various areas, one of which is forensic chemistry. So, what is forensic chemistry? Forensic chemistry is the application of chemistry to questions of criminal and civil law and encompasses toxicology and the chemical analysis of evidence.

Forensic Biology

Forensic Biology is the application of concepts and procedures used in the biological sciences, typically in a legal context. Forensic biologists analyze cellular and tissue samples, as well as physiological fluids that are relevant to a legal investigation. These techniques are also definitive in the identification of paternity/kinship relationships.

English Literature and Communication

The English Literature and Communication major combines literary analysis with an emphasis on professional speaking and writing. It offers students the opportunity to  hone the much-needed skills of analysis, clear thinking and writing while also providing them the chance to study the human condition through the words and wisdom of famous authors from varied cultures and backgrounds.

As author Salman Rushdie once said, studying English Literature allows one to "open the mysterious and decisive doors of imagination and understanding; to see the way others see, to think the way others think and above all to feel." English and literature that spans cultures and decades, and that transcends time itself is one of the most important liberal arts majors and is one that provides opportunities for a fulfilling career path and an inspired life after graduation.

Computer and Information Technology

Computer and Information Technology is more than just data processing and web surfing. It's about how computers operate and how they are used in many areas of daily life. Majors learn about computer hardware, computer software, web development and design, program design, and multimedia development, managing information systems and digital forensics.
