Chestnut Hill College Offers Comparable Programs to ITT Tech, Providing Students An Easy Transition

Following the abrupt and unexpected closure of ITT Educational Services, Inc. (ITT), many students were left at a standstill with their education – as well as left with many questions. Who will accept my transfer credits? Who do I talk to about costs? Which schools offer comparable programs? The answer – Chestnut Hill College. CHC welcomes transfer students from varying academic backgrounds, and is committed to helping guide students onto the right trajectory to fulfill their collegiate ambitions.

For many ITT Tech students, a deciding factor for choosing the most suitable transfer school is finding an institution that offers a comparable program. Chestnut Hill College is a viable option as it has an assortment of Bachelor’s Degree and Associate’s Degree programs that overlap with those previously available at ITT Tech, including Criminal Justice, Accounting & Business, and Business Administration.

In fact, Chestnut Hill College worked with ITT Tech prior to its closure to evaluate the schools’ criminal justice program and ensure students’ credits were easily transferrable between institutions. This enabled an even more seamless transition for ITT Tech students currently deciding how and where to complete their education.

“Historically, we’ve seen more students transfer from ITT Tech to complete their criminal justice degrees than any other program offered at Chestnut Hill College,” said Elaine Green, Ed.D, Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Chestnut Hill College also offers 13 programs for those looking to change their major.

“Not only do students at Chestnut Hill College have the opportunity to pursue their passion in so many different areas of study, they do so in small classes with professors who utilize a varity of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and who are committed to helping students get the most out of their education,” said April Fowlkes, M.S., Director of Admissions for the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Chestnut Hill College. “The faculty and staff at Chestnut Hill College are committed to helping all students pursue the academic and career path that best suits their individual interests and needs.”

Chestnut Hill College continually works to improve and streamline its transfer process and has announced it may accept up to 75 credits from incoming ITT Tech students. Chestnut Hill College is also offering a 25 percent tuition discount for all ITT Tech students, effective immediately. Students can also benefit from CHC’s rolling admissions, meaning that once a student has completed the application process, they can schedule a meeting with an academic advisor.

“The closure of ITT Tech has without a doubt created a major barrier for thousands of students working toward realizing their academic endeavors,” said Fowlkes. “But we are here to help students embrace this time of transition and view it as an opportunity. They now have the chance to attend a new school, such as Chestnut Hill College, which will provide them with a holistic education that helps them grow academically, professionally, and personally.”
