Chestnut Hill College Announces Plan for Full Return to Campus for Fall 2021 Semester

Chestnut Hill College Announces Plan for Full Return to Campus for Fall 2021 Semester

WE’LL SEE YOU IN AUGUST!

CHC is delighted to announce that it plans to fully re-open its campus with in-person, on-campus learning for the fall 2021 semester, scheduled to start in late August.

“We are encouraged by the tremendous progress made by health experts and scientists over the last year,” said Sister Carol Jean Vale, President of the College. “And while we remain vigilant in our planning, we are confident that we can fully reopen while protecting the health and safety of our campus community.”

Under the leadership of its COVID-19 Task Force, the College’s decision follows a comprehensive review of the latest guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on large group gatherings and the distribution of vaccinations. The College’s return plan prioritizes the health and safety of its students, faculty, and staff, and includes flexibility for any possible virus reoccurrence in the future.

The College has worked closely with the NCAA and the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC), our athletic conference, for the spring return to competition. Plans for the return to play for the fall will continue under the guidance of the NCAA and CACC following specific protocols for the health and wellbeing of our student-athletes.

“We are looking forward to having everyone back on campus together to experience the full spirit of Chestnut Hill College,” said Vale. “Our students, faculty, and staff have shown great strength and resilience as we navigated the challenges of the pandemic. I’m confident that they will continue to act responsibly to keep our community healthy and safe.”

The College partially reopened for the spring 2021 semester, using a low-density hybrid model with both in-person and online instruction. Students on campus have followed a series of new health and safety protocols that includes testing, social distancing and restricted gathering sizes in classrooms and on campus.

For the summer 2021 sessions, the College’s School of Undergraduate Studies will continue to offer a limited selection of on-campus courses and online courses, while the School of Graduate Studies and School of Continuing and Professional Studies will continue with remote instruction.

Please continue to check back on our Return to Campus webpages for more updated information as it becomes available about our plans for the fall 2021 semester and the full reopening of the campus.
