A Message from Sister Carol Jean Vale on COVID-19

Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you and your families well and safe. The COVID-19 outbreak has challenged us in ways we could have never anticipated, but we have been able to pivot to make creative and innovative changes in our design and delivery of the Chestnut Hill College program and experience. I am so very proud and grateful to our students, staff, and faculty for the dedication and commitment they have shown to their work and their respective communities during this global pandemic.

The ingenuity and visioning that have resulted from this crisis will guide us confidently into the future as we continue to provide our students with a values-based education that develops young women and men professionally, personally, and spiritually — outcomes that have been a hallmark of a Chestnut Hill College education for nearly 100 years. I am confident that our collective efforts will allow us to rise from this a stronger, more agile, and resilient campus community.

I know we have all missed being together, especially at this celebratory time of year when graduates enthusiastically anticipate the closing ceremonies that surround Commencement. You are uppermost in our thoughts and prayers during these final days of the spring semester.

On behalf of the entire Chestnut Hill College family and the Sisters of Saint Joseph, we wish you peace and health, and we look forward to welcoming you to campus this fall.

Sincerely,
SCJV
