Graduate Admissions Counselor

Purpose: 

Responsible for a full-range of activities, virtual and in-person, for the recruitment, enrollment, and tracking of students for all degree and certificate programs in the School of Graduate Studies. Responsibilities include: development, implementation, and operation of all applicant and inquiry processing functions; using admissions CRM Slate for applicant processing and communication, admissions counseling of prospective students; attending face to face and virtual recruiting events and one-on-one prospect meetings; conduct virtual meetings and phone calls and attend in-person recruitment events; other projects as assigned in support of achieving institutional enrollment and retention goals.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university

• Experience in college admissions and/or professional experience in sales, marketing or customer service environment is preferred but not required

• Proficiency in using CRM (e.g. Slate, Salesforce, Target X or other) for admissions processes is preferred but not required

• Proficiency in using ERP system (e.g. Jenzabar, Banner, PeopleSoft or other) for admissions and/ or academic processes is preferred but not required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required

• Demonstrates superior attention to detail

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to present effectively to large audiences virtually or in-person upon hire; excellent organizational skills required

• Ability to create and implement new initiatives for student recruitment across all programs with a focus on recruitment of online students

• Ability to multi-task, consistently meet deadlines and handle information confidentially

• Familiarity with social media platforms for assistance with creating messages to engage prospects

• Ability to positively interact with diverse groups • Must exude a positive customer service-oriented attitude

• Must be collegial and enthusiastic when working across departments to meet common goals

• Self-starter and driven to complete all projects as assigned

• Possess a valid driver’s license and car insurance or the ability to demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs for the position

• Understanding of Chestnut Hill College’s mission, vision, goals, and academic programs

Responsibilities: 

• Manage data entry and status tracking process of prospective students at all stages

• Enter, update and process applications and inquiries in CRM Slate and ERP Jenzabar

• Assist with activities related to the recruitment and enrollment of students for all programs and academic offerings in the School of Graduate Studies

• Manage prospective student communication at all stages of the admissions process

• Work closely with the Executive Director and Assistant Director of Admissions to develop and facilitate recruitment efforts with prospective students, employers of prospective students, undergraduate institutions, and other entities providing access to prospective students

• Coordinate prospective student status communication including, but not limited to letters regarding application status, acceptance, rejection, and withdrawal

• Act as a liaison to Program Directors, Department Chairs and faculty to coordinate student meetings and on/off campus events

• Maintain frequent telephone, email, written and personal contact with prospective students, and school personnel

• Assist in supervising graduate assistants and assigning projects and tasks

• Interact with students, faculty, and staff in a collegial, courteous and professional manner

• Promptly respond to phone calls, email and inquiries

• Maintain supply of office products for Graduate Admissions Staff

• Perform other related duties as assigned
