Ireland Cottage Raffle

Ireland Cottage Raffle

Congratulations to Rosemary Corbin-Cummings '84!!!

All proceeds support Chestnut Hill College students. Thank you to Bill and Natalie McLaughlin for their generosity in making this raffle possible. Special thanks to Ann and Mark Baiada and Loretta McLaughlin.

With each ticket you purchase, the proceeds will go toward student scholarships. Nearly every student at CHC receives some form of financial assistance and more than $18 million in scholarships was awarded last year alone. Additionally, 45 percent of our students qualify for a Pell Grant, while the national average is 31 percent. Further, the COVID-19 environment has caused many of our working-class families to find themselves without a monthly income, and they will inevitably require additional financial assistance in the next academic year as well.

To learn more about what this wonderful cottage has to offer, please see the raffle prize description in the section below.

RAFFLE PRIZE: 1 WEEK STAY AT A QUAINT IRISH COTTAGE IN COUNTY MAYO

Staying in a traditional Irish cottage provides you with a peaceful retreat, and all the privacy and freedom you want on your vacation. Here is your chance to enjoy a 1 week stay at the Cottage of McLaughlin Farm!

Located in the countryside of beautiful County Mayo, the four-room cottage sleeps up to 6 people and has the original hearth where, for centuries, Irish families and friends gathered to listen to music or to the stories of a shanachie. Modern kitchen and bathroom, brilliant skylights, and glistening hardwood floors throughout have recently been added.

Self-catering accommodations include an open hearth, electric cooktop and oven, microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, electric heat, telephone, bed and bath linens, and kitchenware. Sleeping accommodations include two sleep settees which sleep four in the main room with cathedral ceiling, skylights and peat-burning hearth. In the bedroom are two bunk beds which sleep four, and a skylight. The kitchen has wonderful natural light from the skylights and large windows.

The cottage sits on a hill in the midst of a 22 acre working farm. Enjoy your coffee or Irish tea over a good book while the cows outside the kitchen window munch on the green, green grass of Mayo.

You can be sure of one thing when you stay at the McLaughlin Farm: when you return home and your friends ask what did you see, you can answer that you saw "the real Ireland."
