Faculty Information

Faculty Information

We value the partnerships with academic departments in promoting study abroad opportunities.  Students indicate that CHC students utilize faculty advisors, web resources, GEO advising, and friends and family as their primary resources during the study abroad planning process.  Each person – faculty advisor, teaching professor, and the Global Education Office– plays a crucial role in ensuring that CHC students get abroad and have a successful experience.

At the same time, faculty and department advisors encourage students and carefully review curricular “fit” and academic requirements among other things. To support academic and departmental colleagues, GEO offers:

  • Forms and resources on this website
  • Classroom presentations
  • Study abroad pre-departure orientations
  • Major-specific advising information
  • Exchange development advice
  • Funds for faculty to visit targeted overseas programs

Thanks to all of our academic and departmental partners who facilitate our students’ overseas experiences.

Faculty Program Development

Every program involving faculty working with students outside of the United States must be approved by the International education Committee. This includes independent study classes and not-for-credit courses. International Education Committee has developed a set of guidelines for developing proposals. These Guidelines apply to all CHC schools proposing overseas study programs. CHC faculty must initially submit their proposals to the Director of Global Education. The Global Education Office will work with CHC faculty to develop a complete proposal, which will then be submitted by us to IEC for approval. Proposals may be submitted at any time at least one year prior to proposed trip.
