Learn More About Neurodiversity Initiatives at CHC!

March 24, 2022 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Location:
SJH 240

March 21-27, 2022 is Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organizations with the opportunity to recognize the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

Neurodivergent individuals process the world around them differently than their neurotypical peers. This means that they frequently perceive or interpret information in a unique way. These dynamic perspectives make significant and meaningful contributions to our everyday lives and deserve to be celebrated on a daily basis.

Want to learn more about neurodiversity? Follow Chestnut Hill College on social media (FacebookInstagramTwitter, & LinkedIn) throughout the week for information on free webinars, neurodivergent influencers to follow, recommended reading, as well as websites to view and associations to get involved with. There is also an informative bulletin board outside of SJH 248 - take a picture there and tag #neurodiversitycelebrationweek and #chc! Challenge yourself to learn one new thing about neurodiversity, and share that knowledge with a friend!

In addition to the webinars and resources, Laura Sibbald, Associate Director of the Disability Resources Center/Neurodiversity Initiatives, will be hosting a Neurodiversity Office Hours session on Thursday, March 24 from 2:00pm-4:00pm in SJH 240. Please email (SibbaldL@chc.edu) if you would prefer to participate virtually.

Have a fantastic Neurodiversity Celebration Week!
