Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Career Fair

Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Career Fair

March 14, 2019 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Location:
Redmond Room, St. Joseph Hall, Chestnut Hill College

In concert with Career Development Office, the Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics and Recreation will be hosting an Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Career Fair on Thursday, March 14 (Snow Date: Tuesday, March 19). A 2018-2019 recipient of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II (DII) Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant, Chestnut Hill College is partnering with various local companies that have a special interest in hiring candidates who are ethnic minorities and/or women. Students will have the opportunity to meet with employers and potentially land full-time employment, part-time employment, and internship positions across all majors. Taking place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Redmond Room of St. Joseph’s Hall, this event is not only beneficial for students, but it also helps support corporations and organizations who are focusing on more diversity in the workplace.

Chestnut Hill College Athletic Communications and Community Engagement Intern, Kendra Johnson (johnsonk7@chc.edu, 215.753.2827) will serve as the primary contact for the event. Johnson was hired by Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletic Communications, Gregory Gornick, through the NCAA DII Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant, to enhance the department’s social media presence, as well as, work with Jessica Day, then the Assistant Director of Athletics for Academic Success and Community Engagement, on expanding the department’s community outreach initiatives. Johnson already oversaw the College’s participation in the NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign and collaborated with Chestnut Hill College Officer for Diversity and Inclusion, Juliana Mosley, Ph.D., on the development of an Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Policy, as well as, the College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
