Cliveden and PhilaLandmarks are continuing their partnership to bring the Revolutionary Germantown Festival to life this year! We promise a day of fun filled with activities for visitors of all ages and two reenactments of the Battle of Germantown, which took place on Cliveden's grounds on October 4, 1777. During the festival, we encourage visitors to tour some of the historic sites in Germantown and after the festival, go to Historic Grumblethorpe for Battle Bash, the annual party open to the public where British troops celebrate their victory.
Germantown Avenue will be closed on October 6th between Upsal and Johnson Streets at 9 AM. Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood on a first come, first serve basis. Cliveden can be reached by SEPTA through the 23 bus. The bus will detour during the festival.
We encourage all visitors to bring ear plugs or headphones to wear during the reenactments at 12 PM and 3 PM. In case the weather is warmer than usual, visitors should bring sunscreen and bug spray.
