Chestnut Hill is transformed into a winter wonderland during this two-day festival which boasts unique ice-themed attractions and cozy comforts that showcase the beauty of its historic business district in the winter. Join world-renowned ice sculptor Peter Slavin and Philadelphia's own Ice Sculpture Philly team Friday Night and Saturday Afternoon in Chestnut Hill for a revamped Valentine's on Ice celebration.
Friday Night & Saturday Afternoon
- Get inspired for winter "glamping" as you check out a Yurt Village containing tents fitted out with chic furnishings provided by Chestnut Hill's premier home design retailers.
- Chestnut Hill Brewing Company invites you to enjoy ice-cold locally-brewed beers and wines at their outdoor Ice Bar, carved entirely out of blocks of ice. Nearby attractions include a fire pit and Chestnut Hill's famous Market At The Fareway vendors.
- Warm up with chili specials from participating restaurants and take advantage of the shopping weekend before Valentine's Day with retail promotions at participating shops.
- Masterfully-crafted ice sculptures will be displayed along Germantown Avenue throughout the event. Live ice carving shows by Slavin and team will also take place at Laurel Hill Gardens, Friday 6:30pm-7:30pm and Saturday 12pm-3pm. Ice Sculpture Philly is the world's first performance ice sculpting company, combining action adventure, slapstick, drama, and audience participation to create an unforgettable experience.
Friday Night Only
- Witness the spectacle of a roaring bonfire encased in a column of ice at Top of the Hill Market & Cafe.
Saturday Afternoon Only
- Ice skaters of all ages will enjoy gliding across this 960 sq. ft. iceless rink, on Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm at Top of the Hill Market & Cafe. Ice skates in varying sizes and walkers for non-skaters are available on-site. Take a few minutes to warm up after skating at the adjacent fire pits, where food, wine/beer, and non-alcoholic beverages await. *Admission for this activity is $10 per person.
