Support CHC’s Student Emergency Fund
THIS YEAR, STUDENTS ARE CHALLENGING ALUMNI to see who can get more donors! So the question is - will it be the students or the alumni that have the highest number of participants on Day of Giving? Each unique donor and every gift – no matter the size – counts towards the challenge.
The students are positive they can secure more donors than alumni, and reach their goal of 100 donors in 24-hours. If they reach their goal, 8 student donors will be randomly chosen to have a special brunch with Sister Carol in the President’s Dining Room next semester. If alumni have more donors, Cathy Lockyer Moulton ’92, Chair of the Board of Directors, will visit classrooms dressed as the Griffin!
Alumni – will you let the students win or will you beat their goal of 100 donors in one day!

Imagine pursuing your college dream and encountering a financial hardship that could prevent you from completing your degree. Often times it can be as simple as needing a little extra money for clothes, transportation to campus, meals in the dining hall or books for class. The struggle is real and it can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be the end of a student’s dream.
A couple years ago, CHC students recognized this problem and they came up with a solution affectionately called “The Dave Z Fund.” Established as an emergency fund for students experiencing undue hardship, the Fund is a tribute to David Zukauskas ’07 who suddenly passed away as a senior at Chestnut Hill College.
The Dave Z Fund has already helped the Dear Neighbor by providing Septa passes, clothes, books and funds for a housing emergency. With your support, we can help more students in need.
The Dave Z Fund is a wonderful resource to help students that have nowhere else to turn. Each year on Day of Giving, we ask the college community – students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni and friends – to donate directly to this Fund. In doing so, we ensure a successful year ahead for ALL of our students.
Don’t wait, make your gift to The Dave Z Fund today! And remember, together we make the greatest impact. If 5 people gave $5, there would be enough for a student to have 4 meals in the dining hall. If 5 people gave $10, we can provide a SEPTA pass to help a student get to class. And if 10 people gave $10, a student could have the textbook they need.
