You're the Best!
It was great welcoming you home to CHC for Reunion of the Stars 2010. More than 260 members of traditional undergraduate classes ending in 0 and 5 returned to Chestnut Hill College this past weekend to reconnect, renew friendships, and rejoice in your shared CHC experience.

A few quick stats? Reunion of the Stars 2010 defied a difficult national economy in attracting 23 percent of eligible registrants for at least one event, up from 20 percent attending your last reunion five years ago, and producing a 15 percent increase in total registrations for your classes. Bravo!

The 50th reunion class, the Class of 1960, totaled 60 registrations, followed by the Class of 1970 with 41, and the Class of 1965 with 30. The most recent reunion-year class, the Class of 2005, registered 12 and certainly displayed great spirit with confetti and sparkling poppers during Reunion Luncheon's traditional Roll Call of Classes.

We were thrilled to welcome so many of you to campus and regret that other members of the 0 and 5 classes could not join you this year.

Enjoying Saturday's Reunion Luncheon and their 70th reunion, (standing, l-r) Mary Katherine Schubert Denny, Regina Maria Brimmer, SSJ; (seated, l-r) Lee Bailey MacMurtrie, Patricia Kilmartin.
Most inspiring? The loyalty and commitment shown by four members of the Class of 1940, who celebrated their 70th reunion at Saturday's luncheon, an event first introduced in 1947. Two more, Madeline Conti and Margaret Kelly Baumgardner, joined their 1940 classmates at Sunday's sold-out Golden Griffins Brunch at The Mansion on SugarLoaf Hill.

A complete narrative summary and extensive photo gallery of Reunion of the Stars 2010 will be posted on CHC Griffins Online once the results of participant evaluations are compiled.

Reunion Evaluation Forms On the Way

Every reunion registrant will receive an evaluation form within the next seven to 10 days, requesting feedback on reunion programming, dining, and promotional materials.

Last Call for Class Picture Orders
Reunion celebrants who did not order a class picture with their original registration, but would like to do so now, should contact canningp@chc.edu by June 16. Each picture is $15.

Eileen M. Crimmins, Ph.D. '68 Earns 2010 Alumni Award
This year's Alumni Association Distinguished Achievement Award was presented to Professor Eileen M. She is an internationally recognized expert on aging. The Reunion Luncheon awards presentation was conducted remotely, as Eileen was in Europe at the time and videotaped her acceptance remarks earlier in the week. Click for complete profile

Heard Around Campus
"I wish I could have gone to more than one class" ... "I would have liked to hear other teachers, too" ... "I was interested in all five of the sessions, and it was difficult to pick just one!" These were comments overheard Friday night and Saturday, as alums noted the stellar faculty-led sessions presented after the Hi! Tea Welcome-Back Reception on Friday afternoon. These and other comments concerning the "Nourish Your Mind, Body, Spirit" sessions will be included in the weekend narrative summary.
