It will be lights ... camera ... action when you join your classmates and others from classes ending in 0 and 5 for the Reunion of the Stars 2010 on June 4-5-6.

The third of three reunion mailings --- your Reunion of the Stars registration/invitation brochure --- will begin arriving in your homes on April 7. A .pdf version will also be accessible on www.CHCgriffinsonline.com/Reunion shortly after that. We have lots of wonderful activities, experiences and just plain fun ready for you to enjoy. This is reunion as you've never known it.

We hope these coming attractions offer you a glimpse at what's in store for you when we welcome you home to Chestnut Hill College in June. Extensive descriptions and other details are included in your registration/invitation brochure.

Questions or comments? Contact Patricia Canning, director of alumni relations, at canningp@chc.edu or 215.248.7144.

What’s New Since Your Last Reunion? Lots.
The biggest change to reunion weekend is the invitation to spouses, significant others, travel companions, and guests to the entire weekend. Air-conditioned rooms for two, with private bath, are available in The Lodge at SugarLoaf Hill for alumnae who plan to invite another to attend. What’s more, “Special Saturday” programming also has been planned for your non-alum “special person” while you attend Saturday’s traditional Memorial Mass-through-Class Meetings sequence.

When you arrive, look for the red carpet leading you to the box office for sign in and your reunion gift bag and keepsakes, official reunion name badge (which indicates your luncheon selection and other activity-identifying info), room key, news you can use for a safe and happy weekend, and more.

Friday Playbill: Featuring Something for Everyone
Hi! Tea Welcome Back Reception
New, updated twist to a Friday CHC tradition and the traditional reunion gathering.

“Nourish Your Mind, Body, Spirit” Concurrent Sessions
Five 75-minute education/personal enrichment sessions to choose from, presented by CHC faculty.

Spanning-the-Globe Buffet Dinner
So many “international” selections … lots of variety … casual … all adult and other beverages included in the price.

Lights in the Piazza: CHC Idol Night on the Hill
After-dinner activity that attracted alums of all ages for the last two years. The karaoke evening includes a Tiki Bar of both spirited and non-alcoholic beverages. In fact, plan your class party within this event because the price is right and it's easier than organizing refreshments and locations on your own. Weather-permitting, we're outside in the tented piazza.

Saturday Schedule: So Much More
“Saturday Special”
On- and off-campus programming planned for your special person, if you like.

Van Tour of SugarLoaf Hill
Premiering the newly refurbished Mansion.

Luau on the Hill
Reported to be the best meal of last year’s reunion, and the only event that welcomes children.

Starring You! Evening Festivities
Debuting this year, welcoming all reunion artists and authors to display their creations while everyone enjoys a big hit from last year --- live entertainment with the celebrated Brazilian jazz trio Minas. You’ll also walk away from the evening with a complimentary portrait drawn by our two caricaturists. Music, creative alums, very tasty liquid refreshments, good cheer --- fabulous night!

If you've done it, why not flaunt it?

Contact Jessica Hannan at hannanj@chc.edu by May 18 if you'd like to exhibit your artistic or literary creations.

Sunday:  Sentimental Journey
Golden Griffins Mass & Brunch
All classes are welcome and encouraged to attend this annual tradition in the Rotunda. The Golden Griffins Brunch that immediately follows features the official induction of the Class of 1960 into the Golden Griffins. Invitations to the Class of 1960 and earlier will be mailed separately from the reunion brochure.

Plus--
One final but very welcome change since your last reunion:
Air-conditioned accommodations! No need for fans. In fact, you might actually need a sweater.

Return Engagements: Four Reunion Weekend Traditions
Annual Memorial Mass, Cocktail Reception, 63rd Annual Reunion Luncheon, Class Meetings
Gather for Mass in the glorious Main Chapel … share in the beauty of “Salve Mater Salvatoris, The College Hymn to Our Lady”… pose for your class picture … raise the roof when your class is announced during the Reunion Luncheon Roll Call of Classes … enjoy one another’s company … get the latest news about the College … and elect your officers for the next five years.

What’s New With Your Reunion Appeal? Every Gift Counts
Five years ago, you were asked to support Fournier Hall refurbishing as the year’s special reunion appeal, and gifts made to the College for only this purpose counted as a reunion gift. This policy has now changed. You can now count any gift made to the College for any purpose during your reunion year as a reunion gift. All gifts made by you and your classmates will be counted in the class percentage totals presented in the Donor Report next fall. A reminder that the Griffin Fund is the single most important fundraising effort each year, as it provides needed operational funds for classrooms, labs, student organizations, and more. Look for Reunion Giving info in your registration brochure.

What’s New Since Your Last Reunion?  Just About Everything
Lots of activities, plenty of down time, and menus that are sure to stretch the waist line. We look forward to greeting you on the first weekend in June. Our staff, student team, and reunion volunteers are ready to welcome you to what could be your best reunion ever!
