Sugarloaf Design Approach
The main goal for the development of the Sugarloaf property is to limit the amount of new building and surface parking footprint while preserving the estate lawns and woodland landscapes at the gateway to the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. The organizing principle for achieving this goal is to build a modest 450-car parking structure partially submerged in the hillside and covered with a vegetated roof and new College buildings. Also the architectural style and arrangement will draw from the main campus for its materials, proportions, and sequence of courtyards each with their own unique character.
