Brian Barber, a student enrolled in the College's Psy.D. program was featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer on his habit of studying while attending Phillies games. The story also appeared in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, The Hanover Evening Sun, The CTpost.com, Wsbtv.com, The Greenwich Times, The Centre Times, The Palm Beach Post, York Dispatch, The New Jersey Herald, and the Lebanon Daily News.

The dedication of the Jack and Rosemary Murphy Gulati '61 Complex on May 20th was the subject of several articles in the Boyertown Area Times, the Reading Eagle, and on the Building Design + Construction Web site.

The Jack and Rosemary Murphy Gulati '61 Complex was featured in the July/August edition of University Business magazine for the renovation of the Fitness Center and the Michael and Margaret Carney McCaffery '77 Lounge.

Alumna featured in Springfield Sun for Distinguished Achievement Award Honor and Pioneering Surgical Technique
Stephanie King, M.D. '79 was featured in the Springfield Sun for winning the 2012 Distinguished Achievement Award from the College's Alumni Association for pioneering a new surgical technique and her contributions to the medical field.

Margie Thompson, SSJ, associate professor of art and coordinator of arts programs was featured in an article in the Chestnut Hill Local discussing how faith and art connect. She was also featured for her colorful Adirondack chairs that are part of the exhibition at the Morris Arboretum and Woodmere Art Museum.

Scott Browning, professor of psychology, was featured as an expert in The Jewish Exponent on re-marriage and how to communicate with children about your intentions.

The College was mentioned in an article in the National Catholic Reporter for its participation in the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC).

Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation Featured in the Catholic Standard and Times
The Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation was featured in the Catholic Standard and Times and CatholicPhilly.com. Sister Cathy Nerney, associate professor of religious studies, chair of the religious studies and philosophy department, and director of the Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation at the College, was interviewed for the article.

Philosophy Professor Featured in Chestnut Hill Local for "Most Valuable Professor" Nomination
Patrick McCauley, Ph.D., assistant professor of religious studies, was featured in the Chestnut Hill Local for being nominated by students as "Most Valuable Professor" in a nationwide contest sponsored by Questia, an online library and research tool for students.

Mary Ann Domanska, '03 SGS was featured in a recent Chestnut Hill Local article for using technology and the internet to teach creativity to her second grade students at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy.

Alumna Featured on San Diego Television Station for Coaching Women's Basketball
Mary Lou Sciarrillo, Class of 1966 and the retired coach of the San Diego Splash, a team in the National Senior Women's Basketball Association, were the focus of a feature by NBC News in San Diego for competing in the California Senior Games.

Lacrosse Coach Brian Dougherty Featured in Local Media for Lacrosse Camps, Hall of Fame Nod
Men's lacrosse coach Brian Dougherty was the feature of several stories in the local media (including an article at lacrosseplayground.com) for lacrosse camps he is running this summer. He was also the subject of a Chestnut Hill Local article on being inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Media Highlights Student Athletes Commitment to Chestnut Hill
Local and regional media have featured students who have signed their letter of intent to compete in their prospective sports next year at the College. Stories have appeared in Laxpower.com, the Hunterdon County Democrat, the Times Union, and NJ.com.


Event Spotlight
New Student Move-In Day and Orientation August 24th
The Chestnut Hill College Class of 2016 will move onto campus from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, August 24, with some help from their orientation leaders and parents. "Now Showing: Orientation 2012" will then kick off in Sorgenti Arena with a welcome from Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, Ph.D., president of the College. Other events planned for students during the Hollywood-themed orientation weekend include a "Fall in Love with Philly" event, showbiz quiz shows, movie screenings, lectures, and games.
