Thanks to Chestnut Hill's commencement speaker, former Channel 6 weatherman Dave Roberts, the blue skies and sunshine provided a beautiful backdrop for the College's May 12th commencement exercises. Channel 6 and WHYY Newsworks were in attendance to take photos and shoot video of the occasion. The Chestnut Hill Local and Chestnut Hill Patch also published stories on the ceremony. In the Health and Science section of the April 2, 2012 edition of the Inquirer, Peter Dobson, a paleontologist at the University of Pennsylvania, mentioned his involvement with the Institute for Religion and Science at the College as a board member and speaker.
Lynne Adkins of KYW News Radio interviewed Sister Nancy DeCesare, Ph.D., associate professor of human services, for a story on the local chapter of the Soldiers Project and their upcoming training at the College. The Catholic Standard and Times also published a piece on the event.
The Chestnut Hill Local wrote two stories on the 7th Annual United Nations Conference on Teaching Peace and Human Rights that was hosted by the College in late March.
The College Quidditch team was mentioned on the International Quidditch Association Web Site for their participation on the The Fred Weasley Memorial Tournament.

A quilt made by Professor of Education Jessica Kahn to promote Autism Awareness was featured on the Chestnut Hill Patch Web Site.
A photo and caption of the women's volleyball team appeared in the April 26, 2012 edition of The Chestnut Hill Local promoting the teams fundraising dinner at Iron Hill Brewery.
The College is mentioned in an article on Philly.com for being named to the Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, honoring Division II programs with a four-year graduation rate of 90 percent of its athletes.
The women's tennis team was featured in an article in the Chestnut Hill Local for being the first sports team since the College became a Division II school to make it to a post-season tourney.
Alumna Jessie Hemmons '11 was the subject of a blog post on The Philly Post for her yarn bombing work in the City of Philadelphia, and most recently the Perelman building at The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Kris Gross '04, a student enrolled in the College's Psy.D.) program was featured as "Volunteer of the Week" in the Main Line Times for her work at Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options. She received a master's degree in counseling psychology from the College in 2004.
Broadcast Pioneer Dave Roberts delivered the 85th commencement address at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, May 12 at an outdoor ceremony on the College's campus.
The College awarded 351 bachelor degrees, 219 graduate degrees as well as 30 doctoral degrees in clinical psychology during the ceremony. An honorary Doctor of Laws degree was awarded to Dave Roberts for his outstanding community service work supporting local charities that include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Lupus Foundation, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
