Commencement Lands College in Philadelphia Inquirer, Inside Higher Ed and Newsworks
The College received several mentions regarding commencement exercises on May 14, 2011. Pennsylvania First Lady Susan Corbett, who delivered the 84th commencement address, was mentioned in the list of commencement speakers in The Philadelphia Inquirer, and was mentioned in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review and Inside Higher Ed. WHYY's Newsworks also covered the graduation ceremony and had a slideshow of photos on their site, and the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) broadcasted Susan Corbett's commencement speech in June.

Women's Lacrosse Team Featured for Win Over Wilmington University in Chestnut Hill Local
The Chestnut Hill Local featured the women's lacrosse team for winning their last game of the season in the May 2 edition. The article also mentions that sophomore mid-fielder Lindsay Alexander was named First Team All Conference, and senior Jill Sanger and sophomore Nicole Covella were named second team selections.

Children Helping Children at Steinway Performathon
More than 250 young musicians performed at the College from May 20-22 to raise more than $15,000 for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Friends and family came to the College to watch young musicians from the local area perform on the unique Steinway Walden Woods piano, and enjoyed a visit from Ronald McDonald.

The weekend also included a celebration concert by Steinway performance artist Meral GÏ‹neyman, State artist of the Republic of Turkey and Grammy-nominated jazz artist as well as the presentation of the "All-Steinway" plaque to College President Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, Ph.D. from Steinway & Sons President Ron Losby. Chestnut Hill College Celebrates Dedication of Commonwealth Chateau
Chestnut Hill College celebrated the dedication of the Commonwealth Chateau with a ceremony on May 22, 2011. Friends and donors of the College came together to celebrate the milestone with remarks by Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, Ph.D., president of Chestnut Hill College, Barbara D'Iorio Martino '60, chair of the board of directors, and a retrospective offered by Patricia Kelly, SSJ, former president of The Sisters of Saint Joseph and past chair of the board of directors.

Former Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Edward G. Rendell also made remarks at the dedication. Key donors and friends of the College were recognized for their contributions, and guests were treated to a tour of the renovated Chateau.
